Ever since I was younger, I felt the need to help others; making a positive change in someone else’s life brought immense joy to my life. Coming from an immigrant family with limited resources, I joined the military to achieve my educational goals. While in the military, I moved around a lot and had the opportunity to meet people from different cultures, backgrounds, religions, etc. I learned how our differences make us unique, interesting, and just wonderful beings. However, these differences sometimes create conflict on the inside as well as on the outside. To that you add the complexity of our lives from childhood to adulthood, the changes we endure, the experiences we live good or bad, and so many other factors, affect us one way or the other. For this reason, I decided to become a social worker and help make a positive change in the world, one person at a time.
